THE MAGGIO MUSICALE FIORENTINO ORCHESTRA WITH GÜHER AND SÜHER PEKİNEL AS SOLOISTS IS COMING TO CLASSICAL MUSIC LOVERS AT GOLDEN HORN CONGRESS CENTER ON DECEMBER 7.
The Istanbul Foundation for Culture and Arts (IKSV) is continuing its 40th anniversary celebrations with concerts by the world’s most acclaimed musicians. Already this year, IKSV has brought Turkish audiences the world’s top two symphony orchestras, the Berlin Philharmonic and the Royal Dutch Concertgebouw. Now, in December, Güher and Süher Pekinel, a piano duo whose recordings have broken world records, are performing with the Maggio Musicale Fiorentino Orchestra on December 7, when the Golden Horn Congress Center will again be filling up with the leading lights of the classical music world.
Zubin Mehta has been permanent conductor of the Maggio Musicale since 1985. Honorary conductor of the Vienna Philharmonic, the Munich Philharmonic, the Los Angeles Philharmonic and the Bavarian State Orchestra, and Chairman of the Mediterranean Festival at Valencia since 2006, this renowned conductor’s career is filled with innumerable awards.
