When God created the world and the living species upon it, He devoted most time to insects. These tiny creatures are masterpieces of ingenuity, possessing strength and beauty quite out of proportion to their size. They easily escape attention, but once examined closely their exquisite detail, colours and diversity are astonishing. Some of them can produce a drop of poison invisible to the naked eye but capable of instantly killing creatures thousands of times larger than themselves.
