From its founding in 1993 up to today, Turkish Airlines has become one of the country’s international institutions and has played a pioneering role in its opening up to the world. When we celebrated our 71st year in October, we also witnessed the important progress Turkey has made in the process towards European Union membership. Aware of the great mission that our company, Turkish Airlines, has taken on, bringing Turkey to the world and the world to Turkey, we are meticulously continuing our operations and adding momentum to our investments. Our Partnership, which finished the first six months of 2003 with a profit for the first time in a long while for a comparable period, is preparing today to make a public offering. Following a decision of the Privatization Administration, close to 20% of the airlines’ shares will be made available in December in a public offering, taking advantage of a model that includes such benefits as tapping preliminary demand and payment by installment.
