THY Electronic Ticket

The electronic ticket system stores all reservation and flight data in the system. An electronic ticket is an electronic version of the conventional paper ticket which is faster, safer and more practical. All reservation and ticket details are kept securely in the system and any allowable reservation changes, route change, refund or check-in transactions can be made electronically through the stored ticket database.

Why use an Electronic Ticket ?

You have 3 important reasons to prefer an electronic ticket:

• It’s safe, because an electronic ticket can not be lost, forgotten or stolen.
• It’s more simple, because as an airline we do not need to have a ticket printing machine and as a passenger you do not need to have a ticket. When you need to make a rebooking, rerouting or require a refund, you do not need to present your ticket.
• It’s fast because an electronic ticket allows you to travel without any problem from reservation until boarding.

How to book an electronic ticket ?

Booking an e-ticket is no different from booking a paper ticket.

A reservation can be made for eligible electronic ticket destinations by our THY sales offices, Call Center and through our web site. The main difference from a paper ticket is that all electronic ticket information is stored in our computer systems. So all reservation and electronic ticket data can easily be provided at any time without having a paper ticket.

How does it work ?

During e-ticket issuance, instead of a conventional paper ticket, you will receive an “itinerary receipt” which confirms all reservation and ticket data with the e-ticket number. If you do not receive this document at the time of purchase, you will receive it shortly after, and this document can be used as  your official “invoice”.  Please contact the nearest Turkish Airlines Sales Office (within a maximum of 7 days from your flight date) to receive your e-ticket document this will include all electronic ticket information and can also be used as an invoice.

Check-in with an e-ticket

You can go directly to check-in counters at the airport, if you have an e-ticket booking. You will only need an Identification Card with photo. (Personel identification card, driving licence, passport or marriage certificate)
