Two prizes for Turkey in the Dakar Rally

Putting up a good fight in the world’s most difficult rally, the 7915-km Dakar 2007,

Kutlu Torunlar and Kemal Merket of the Jim Beam Turkish team were among 132 cyclists who were able to finish this grueling race. The two are the proud holders of the cups for second and third place in the Motorcycle Trunk Challenge (unassisted racers category). Kutlu Torunlar also captured the title of youngest Turk to enter the Dakar Rally for the first time and finish.
