Rock festival to begin

Rock’n’Coke, one of Turkey’s biggest rock festivals, is marking its 5th year this summer.

The festival, which will be held at Hezarfen Airport on 1 and 2 September, features guests Soundgarden and Audioslave leader Chris Cornell and The Smashing Pumpkins first day on the main stage. Other festival participants are Mercury Music Prize winner Franz Ferdinand and Wales’ leading rock group, Manic Street Preachers, on 2 September. The final performance on the alternative stage will be given by the duo M.A.N.D.Y., known for its first Get Physical mix tape released in 2004. Among the local names in the festival are Teoman and Rashit, Pentagram, Özlem Tekin, Within Temptation, Hayko Cepkin, Gripin, and  Aslı ve 110.
