Photographs of Jehsong Baak at Pg Art Gallery

An exhibition of photographs by the Korean Jehsong Baak, one of the leading names in modern photography, can be seen at the Pg Art Gallery starting from 6 p.m. on Friday, 19 Sept., and running through 30 Oct.

Attracting attention with his black-and-white photographs in which emotion is in the foreground and time and place are uncertain, the artist indicates that the visual worlds of Robert Frank and Joseph Koudelka were his primary artistic inspiration. The photographs in Baak's book, 'lá ou ailleurs', were chosen and published by Robert Delphire, a legendary photography curator who played a key role in the careers of both Koudelka and Frank.
