The Youth Workshop Modern which begins on July 5th at Istanbul Modern and continues until August 27th will include instruction in different art works in graffiti, model making, sculpture, animation, traditional arts and fanzine workshops. There are four different two-week periods in the Youth Workshop Modern Summer Art School for children ages 7-12 on weekdays from 9.30-13.30.The art work the children make in the workshops will be exhibited at one-day displays to be held after the two-week courses in the museum pebble area. This summer rich and entertaining experiences await children in the 4-12 age groups at the santralistanbul. There is a new workshop every week like Mad Robots, Entertaining Electric, Green Energy, santral Art Studio, Small archeologists at santralistanbul, and Creative and Entertaining Cuisine with Tiny Chefs… At the santral PARK playground children are building, sailing the vessels they made themselves in the water canals, walking around labyrinths, trying wall climbing, crawling through tunnels, walking on interesting equipment and many more fun things. Turkey’s first and only industrial museum, the Rahmi M. Koç Museum, is very colorful and entertaining this summer. The museum is hosting a summer school program that will take place with different educational contents and weekend training workshops. The activities that will contribute to children’s social, emotional, mental and physical development and their hand skills and which will support the development of their imaginations and creativity will continue until August 27th. In addition, visitors to the museum will learn many things with the aid of Istanbul’s first immobile planetarium, the “Discovery Orb,” about the formation of volcanoes, the ice age, the way dinosaurs lived and disappeared, mysteries in the human body, events in the atmosphere and hurricanes, the birth of stars, sun explosions and evolution. Summer school for children ages 8-12 began on June 21st at the Sabancı University Sakıp Sabancı Museum (SSM). Developed as a project by the SSM Educational Division, the summer school is at the Greenhouse Workshop for one-week periods. In the workshops which will be held four days a week (Tuesday-Friday) from 10.30-15.30, there are the subjects of music, archeology, creative drama, free creativity and free drama.
