GETTING THERE
Turkish Airlines has direct Istanbul-Los Angeles flights in both directions four days a week on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays.

1st Day: Exploring
Los Angeles is a sprawling city of endless variety, so you need to plan your exploring carefully with a focus. We start with the Walk of Fame, where you will find the names of the famous inscribed on stars in the sidewalk. Your attention will be drawn to the Kodak Theater, where the Oscar ceremonies are held, El Capitan Theater, home to the Disney shows, and the Chinese theater with its fascinating architecture.

Don’t be surprised to encounter figures done up like the Hollywood stars all along the avenue, enticing you to visit Madame Tussaud’s Wax Museum. And when you ride the subway to the city center, you’ll be greeted by high-rise buildings, modern museums and culture centers.

2nd Day: Entertainment
Our first recommendation is a studio tour. You can visit either Paramount Studios or Universal Studios, both of them the virtual heart of Hollywood. The Universal tour in particular is likely to astonish, excite, maybe even scare you a little. If you decide to join this tour, be sure you also visit the street running by the entrance, where a wide array of stores and restaurants await you.

If a trip by car is your cup of tea, then you can go to California’s Disneyland and spend a day of fun with your kids and your childhood heroes. And if your stay happens to coincide with an LA Lakers match with Kobe Bryant, the new face of Turkish Airlines’ ads, or with a concert or a film premiere, then you know how to budget your time.

3rd Day: Shopping
If you intend to shop till you drop on one day of your stay, then visit the famous-brand outlet malls outside the city at Camarillo Premium Outlets, where reasonable prices on everything from clothing and electronics to sporting equipment and accessories will immediately draw you in. If it’s a day in the sun you’re looking for, Santa Monica is just the place for you.

As you shop in the stores that line the coast road, you can stop by the cafes and blend in with LA’s mind-boggling diversity. If that still isn’t enough for you, you can branch out to Rodeo Drive and experience the magic that is Beverly Hills by losing yourself in the luxury shops bearing the names of the top-brand designers in the ‘Golden Triangle’.
