Rebellıous Woman: Carmen
French writer Prosper Merımée’s Immortal Work, Carmen, is beig performed by ballet flamenco Maria Carrasco at Tim Show Center, April 6 to 8.
The work combines live flamenco music with Maria Carrasco’s Spanish dance, Argentine tango and modern dance on stage with original choreography.
Merimée began writing the story of Carmen, an extremely bold woman for her time, 15 years after he heard it from her friend, the Countess of Monjito. Later, Merimée’s short novel became the source of inspiration for Bizet’s opera of the same name.
