For Love of Shakespeare
The UK is celebrating the art of Shakespeare once again in the world Shakespeare festıval, which begins this month.
Scores of art lovers from around the world will be coming together this summer with Shakespeare. The works of the Bard, who occupies a unique place not only in English literature but in the literature of the whole world, is coming to life again all over England in dozens of different interpretations.
Besides the close to 70 productions to be staged, a series of special events, workshops, exhibitions and educational programs will also make up a big part of the festival. Produced in a collaboration of leading UK and international arts organizations with Shakespeare’s Globe, the events will take place in London, Stratford-upon-Avon, Newcastle/Gateshead, Birmingham and throughout Scotland and Wales, some of them even on line. Beginning on April 23, the World Shakespeare Festival awaits theater lovers through November 2012.
