Seeing The Big Picture

Ars Electronica Is Here Once Again With The Slogan, “Art, Technology And Society Festival”.

An annual festival bringing together art and technology, Ars Electronica is coming to its followers this year with the concept of “The Big Picture”. The aim of this year’s festival is to see the whole picture created by the interaction between globalization on the one hand, which has reached a near peak, and the individuals and cultures that are asserting themselves more strenuously by the day. Aiming to take up the picture its entirety this time and throw new light on the processes involved, the festival is looking at the future and our perception of it across the entire spectrum of art and science. Realized with artistic direction by Christine Schöpf and Gerfried Stocker, Ars Electronica can be visited in the Austrian city of Linz, August 30 to September 3. A MULTIFACETED FESTIVAL Mounted in collaboration with foreign partners like the New York-based design studio, The Seed, and the Sound Studies program of Berlin University of the Arts, Ars Electronica is a multifaceted festival with a simultaneously realized WikiSym 2012 symposium and an under 19 section aimed at children and young people.
