Following A Quiet August, The Concert Season Has Opened In Istanbul. And What An Opening It Is! The City In September Is Hosting A Number Of Musical Legends New And Old, From Red Hot Chili Peppers To Leonard Cohen.

Istanbul’s stages in recent years have brought audiences some of the world’s top selling and most prestigious musicians. Whatever style of music they may represent, from jazz and classical to rock and heavy metal, these developments have begun putting Istanbul on the itineraries of almost all musicians setting out on European or world tours. Küçükçiftlik Park is hosting the legend of soul, Stevie Wonder, on September 14. Along with Red Hot Chili Peppers, Wonder is the second Grammy-award winning artist the city is hosting this fall.

Known in rock music history for hit singles like Suck My Kiss and Under the Bridge, Red Hot Chili Peppers are meeting their fans on the santralistanbul stage on September 8.

With his unique voice and singing style, Leonard Cohen has won the love and affection of many people who like different kinds of music. This master of melancholy is at Ülker Sports Arena on the evening of September 19.

Dead Can Dance is another leading music group Istanbul is welcoming the evening of September 19 when Lisa Gerrard and Brandon Perry are meeting their Istanbul fans for the first time at Harbiye Cemil Topuzlu Open Air Theater.

One of the younger generation’s favorite bands, Beirut is at Turkcell Kuruçeşme Arena on September 21. The band is known especially for their blend of Balkan music and contemporary sound.
