For Future Generations

EXPO 2016 WILL BRING TOGETHER NUMEROUS NATIONAL AND INTERNATIONAL COMPANIES.

Slated to be held in Antalya in 2016, EXPO 2016 will be Turkey’s first EXPO. The theme of the event is Children and Flowers, its motto A Green World for Future Generations. EXPO 2016 will take place on a 112,000-hectare area in the Aksu Municipality from April to October, 2016.
Among the objectives of the event are to endow future generations with environmental awareness, to create the world’s largest agricultural and environmental museum, and to ensure the spread of alternative energy sources to counter global climate change.
Pointing out that the event will be visited by close to eight million people during its six months and is expected to generate a revenue of 4 billion Euros, Minister of Food, Agriculture and Livestock, Mehdi Eker, had things to say about EXPO:
“The primary objective of EXPO 2016 is to ensure an exchange of information for a better world. The event is being brought to life with the approval of the International Association of Horticultural Producers (AIPH) and the Bureau of International Expositions (BIE), and its contribution to the country where it is held is enormous.”
Antalya Governor Dr. Ahmet Altıparmak also expressed his views on the EXPO: “EXPO 2016 Antalya is going to be an important experience for Turkey. To realize the event and bring it to a successful conclusion, all of our government officials, most notably, our President, Mr. Abdullah Gül, and our Prime Minister, Mr. Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, have pledged their complete support. From now on, we will be continuing our efforts under the leadership of Mr. Mehdi Eker with the same understanding and sense of responsibility.”

ABOUT EXPO
Launched in the mid-19th century, EXPO is also known as the World’s Fair. The expositions, which have radically changed every city in which they have been held, have also brought those cities magnificent monumental buildings. 

20,000 DIFFERENT ACTIVITIES
Participation of 100 countries and 30 international companies is targeted at EXPO 2016 Antalya, where 20,000 different activities are planned by the end of the event.
