Time Of White

Known as the oldest tennis tournament in the world, Wimbledon is taking place this June for the 136th time.

The only Grand Slam tournament still played on grass turf, Wimbledon offers prize money totaling more than 14 million pounds Sterling. In addition to being the oldest tournament, another feature that makes Wimbledon interesting is that players can only wear white. Won last year by Serena Williams and Roger Federer, Wimbledon makes June a month eagerly awaited by tennis buffs.

A WEEK CRAM-PACKED WITH ART
Another event that makes London one of June’s stars is London Art Week. Combining Master Paintings Week with Master Drawings & Sculpture Week, London Art Week is hosting works by artists like Jacques Stélla, Thomas Gainsborough and Frank Lobdell. This art event, which you can visit at galleries in Mayfair and St. James June 28 to July 5, is well worth seeing.
