  • Documenting The History Of Education

A two-volume work compiled by researcher and collector Haluk Perk presents a different perspective on the history of education in Turkey.

A collection of Turkish student report cards and diplomas has been published in the form of a book in two volumes. The first of the books, publication of which was spearheaded by researcher and collector Haluk Perk, is entitled Report Cards in Our History of Education (1869-1950) - The Tuliya Perk Collection. The second volume, Diplomas in Our History of Education - the Dağhan Olcay Perk Collection, offers a comprehensive panorama of the period. In addition to showing the kinds of courses taught at the time, the books also give us access to the names of students and education administrators. They are important documents not only of the history of education in Turkey but also of the transformation in the country’s system of education.
