History of Turkish Airlines on postage stamps

The 75th anniversary of the founding of Turkish Airlines will be celebrated throughout 2008 in a series of events. The festivities kicked off last month with an exhibition, ‘Turkish Airlines Advertisements from Yesterday to Today', at the airline’s Head Office.

It was enthusiastically received by the company’s employees. Speaking at the opening of the exhibition, which ran from 5 to 14 December, Turkish Airlines’ President Temel Kotil, Ph.D., said: “Turkish Airlines is not simply a commercial firm; we are also one of Turkey’s key assets. As they tour the exhibition our employees are once again going to realize the greatness of our firm.” Exhibited were examples of Turkish Airlines’ ads from 1933 up to today, covers of Skylife magazine, which has been appearing since 1983, and old timetables. Put together by Serkan Ersoy, Benan Urhan and Ahmet M. Mütfüoğlu of the Office of Promotion and Public Relations, the exhibition marked the start of the 75th year activities.
