Starting travel to Beijing with three flights a week ten years ago, Turkish Airlines is continuing today with seven.

The ten-year anniversary was celebrated recently in Beijing with the participation of Turkey’s ambassador to China Murat Selim Esenli and his wife, Turkish Airlines’ Vice-President (Commercial) Orhan Sivrikaya and its Vice-President for Marketing and Sales Özlem Salihoğlu, as well as ambassadors of other countries, representatives of various airlines and Beijing’s leading travel agents. The festivities began with a fashion show consisting of 45 pieces of special handwoven textiles with Turkish designs put on by the Adana Advanced Technical School for girls. In a speech he made at the opening, Turkish Airlines’ Vice-President (Commercial) Orhan Sivrikaya said that the developing friendship and cooperation between Turkey and China over the last ten years would be clinched in the days ahead with Turkish Airlines’ new direct flights to Beijing and Shanghai. Following a performance of Chinese folk dances during the dinner, participants took part in a prize draw in which prizes of 2 Business Class and 8 Economy Class tickets and various other gifts found their recipients.
