WELCOME ABOARD

Dear Guests, This wonderful establishment, founded 75 years ago by beloved Atatürk on 20th May 1933, is preparing to break new records in 2008.

In the new year, we are aiming to increase our passenger count to 24 million and aircraft count to 120, up from almost 20 million and 101 last year, respectively. We also aim to increase, with more intensified work and punctilious planning, our service quality even further and become the first five-star airline of Europe. Moreover, we are continuing with our efforts to expand our network and product line to offer you more choice.

Following our decision, after two years of meticulous evaluation, to join Star Alliance, our entry into the world’s largest airline alliance will be finalized on 1st of April 2008. We are reporting successes in preparing for alliance membership and establishing accordance in fields such as information technology infrastructure, marketing, sales, customer relations and ground operations. With completion of the process, you, our valued passengers, will be able to travel with a single ticket to practically all destinations worldwide. Thus, 2008 will be a year in which Turkish Airlines connects you with the world with more ease and comfort.

Dear guests, We will proudly host the 64th Annual General Meeting of IATA, one of the most important assemblies in world aviation, in Istanbul this year. We are anxious to share with you a 75th Anniversary book on the history of Turkish Airlines, as well as concerts, exhibitions and many other surprises to be organized in various parts of the world.

In my letter this month, I would like to share with you some important news regarding Turkish Technic, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Turkish Airlines. Turkish Technic, Inc. recently signed an agreement for a joint venture with Pratt&Whitney of USA, to set up a large-scale engine MRO center, Pratt&Whitney’s eighth such global scale center in the world. Thanks to this undertaking, our Technical subsidiary, already the best known and most preferred customer-centered maintenance station in the region for providing the highest quality service, is going to be transformed into an engine MRO center.

Rigorous attention to our efforts related to flight safety, to which we assign first priority and regard at all times to be the most important element of aviation, continues as we move along to pass international tests in this regard. Our IATA Operational Safety Audit (IOSA) operator certificate, which was developed by the International Air Transport Association (IATA) and is the first internationally recognized airline safety management standard, has been renewed until October 2009. IOSA certification is a fundamental reference for all national and international aviation authorities, and it is also a prerequisite for membership in Star Alliance, which Turkish Airlines will join as a full member on 1st April 2008. I also would like to share with you the first big opportunity of 2008. Between 14th and 29th February, we are going to offer a twenty percent discount to all passengers booking their flights at least 7 days in advance. To take advantage of this offer, passengers will have to fly before 7 March 2008. We are also proud to announce that our ‘111’s of the Month’ campaign, which enables you to fly every week to three different destinations for just 111 euros, is entering its 111th week. In closing, I hope that 2008 will be a year filled with the most brilliant and successful developments and bring happiness and peace for Turkey and for all the world. I thank you, our guests, for the trust you have shown in our airline and wish you all an unforgettably pleasant flight experience on Turkish Airlines.
