WELCOME ABOARD

Dear Guests, This month Skylife meets you in a special edition in commemoration of our 75th anniversary.

Through this special issue of Skylife, we are anxious to share with you the praiseworthy standing of our establishment at its 75th year.

Started out on 20th May 1933 with its 3 aircraft and 28 employees to fly on Istanbul-Eskişehir-Ankara route, Turkish Airlines has come to serving 140 destinations with its 102 aircraft and 12,500 employees. Our establishment has earned its applaudable position among international carriers through its revolutionary steps year by year, and become one of the most successful airlines in Europe last year. We started out this year with a very significant joining for the Turkish civil aviation history. Thanks to our full membership in Star Alliance, the leading global airline alliance, we provide our valued passengers with a much extended choice of network.

Its prestigious position acquired among international circles as a global air carrier puts Turkish Airlines in a remarkable position. Hosting IATA 2008 Summit in Istanbul will signify an important accomplishment and source of pridefulness for us.

Another leapfrog both for Turkish and Turkey is the inauguration of AnadoluJet, which will operate under full assurance of Turkish Airlines to turn Ankara into a full hub enabling our passengers to take advantage of more economical fares on domestic routes.

Commercial successes of Turkish Airlines keep dazzling eyes. We have just broken another record with our net operating profits of 546 million NTL for the year 2007 announced within our 75th year. We succeeded in raising our passenger traffic from 10 million to 20 million during last five years. This year we target at 23.5 million.

We are ready to celebrate our 75th year through various events to be held. Our 75th Year Prestige Book telling the 75 year long story of Turkish Airlines as well as its current situation has been prepared following almost one full year's detailed work and is to be released within May. To go along with this important work which will fill a void by casting light on our history to build our corporate culture, a surprise music album commemorating our 75th anniversary is about to be completed.

Dear Guests, we are not only employees but also lovers of Turkish Airlines. With this never ending love in hearts, I express my gratefulness to all who have passed on this flag of success over the generations for 75 years. I celebrate 75th anniversary of our establishment with my best wishes for you, our precious passengers, employees and our nation; I also celebrate your 19th May Ataturk's Memorial and Youth and Sports Day. Have an enjoyable flight.
