Having left behind another month of initiatives and innovations, we at Turkish Airlines are experiencing both the happiness of continuously developing and realizing our goals and the excitement of offering you new services.
Heading the list of areas on which Turkish Airlines places importance is that of expanding our flight network. Currently the eight largest network in the world, our company is achieving new heights with the addition to our fleet of the new generation wide-bodied, long-range aircraft. As part of this strategy, two Boeing 777-300ER’s joined our fleet last month, and a further 12 will follow, 5 of them by the end of the year and the other 7 by August 2011. Not only that but we have also taken delivery of one Airbus 330-300 passenger plane and one Airbus 330-200 cargo plane. Taken together they will give us the capacity to fly you to several new long-haul destinations in the Americas and Asia. Among the new routes we aim to open by the end of 2011 are Dacca, Vietnam, Atlanta, Shiraz, Basra, Valencia, Manila, Oran, Erbil, Toulouse, Guangzhou and Novosibirsk.
Our new Comfort Class, which we announced here in recent months, is now in service. With its wide, high-mobility seats, advanced in-cabin entertainment and catering service, Comfort Class is a cut above the class known around the world as Premium. We believe that by offering this service we are going to gain new passengers while at the same time enhancing the pleasure of you, our valued regular passengers.
A round of excitement got under way last month in the Euroleague, whose primary sponsors include Turkish Airlines. Europe’s top teams and star players are going to sweat it out in this league, aka Turkish Airlines Euroleague Basketball. We are determined to sustain our efforts to raise awareness of our brand around the world through this sponsorship and all the others we have undertaken in the past and will undertaken in the future.
With the help of all these projects of ours we are also advancing confidently towards realizing our 2010 targets. Our goal is to transport 30 million passengers in 2010. We are therefore making efforts at the highest level to take a place among the world’s 5-star airlines in 2011. We know that you, our valued passengers, deserve only the highest quality. Therefore we continuously strive to do our best.
I would like to take this opportunity to wish all of you a blessed Holiday of Sacrifice. I would also like to remember, on anniversary of his death, our Great Leader, Mustafa Kemal Ataturk, who showed us the goal for which we strive in his words, ‘The future is in the skies’, and to congratulate all our teachers on Teachers Day.
