Dear Guests,

It all started with a dream… Our vision was to make Turkish Airlines one of the biggest and best airlines in the world. We embarked on that path with all our energy and all our resources. We injected our love and our faith into all that we did, because we knew that success always comes to those who strive to do everything with faith and love. We covered significant ground on that path. We were named Europe’s most successful airline in everything from catering to cabin design. We achieved a growth rate far above the sector average. And we did all that thanks to the indefatigable energy of our dedicated staff and to the favor shown by you, our valuable passengers. I would therefore like to offer my sincere appreciation once again to you and the entire Turkish Airlines family.

Now it is time to take that vision of ours to even greater heights, to aim for even more distant horizons… Our 2023 vision constitutes the main outline of that new target. We set out to create a Turkish Airlines that flies to more than 300 destinations, that touches the world at every point and is the first airline that springs to your mind when you want to travel. We have the energy, the resources and the strength to be that airline. And now the time has come to make that dream a reality.

The 13 new routes we are opening by the end of 2012 and the 20-plus percent increase in our flight numbers are going to give you new opportunities to fly. On the 26th of this month we are starting flights to Bremen, our 10th destination in Germany. And the growth that began with our summer timetable, which went into effect last month, is going to continue non-stop.

Our young people are our greatest hope as we realize our vision. They are our most valued resource, our sine qua non.  As we dream of better tomorrows and lay the foundations for our future, it is our young people who are going to shape that future and be its leaders. Turkey’s young population today is the envy of the world and our greatest advantage, and we intend to make the best possible use of that youthful energy. We are striving to create jobs for them and to secure their future. Those efforts of ours are bearing fruit as more and more young people today are choosing the aviation sector. As long as those developments continue and our sector continues to attract young people, our whole country stands to gain. Here at Turkish Airlines it gives us pride to be the prime mover behind that development.

I would like to take this opportunity to wish all the young people of tomorrow - our own children as well as the children of the whole world - a Happy National Sovereignty and Children’s Day on April 23 and to thank you all once again for choosing Turkish Airlines for your travels.

Sincerely yours,
Temel Kotil, Ph.D.
