Dear Guests, Competition is an extremely important factor from the standpoint of boosting quality and remaining dynamic. The airline transport industry heads the list of areas in which the global competition is at its fiercest. As people’s needs to travel increase, that airline companies increase the diversity and quality of their services. This development is also backed up by the figures. The number of passengers in the world has approximately doubled and reached 2,2 billion in the last decade. Over the next 10 years, the number of commercial airplanes and the number of passengers is expected to roughly double globally and the airline industry is expected to become approximately 800 billion-dollar business. All of which goes to show that there is significant growth potential in the industry. Here at Turkish Airlines our fundamental aim is to make the most of that potential and carry our flag all over the globe as one of the world’s best airlines. Our investments on the path to that goal are continuing apace. As the west of the east and the east of the west, Istanbul is a transfer hub nonpareil. Thanks to the strategy we have outlined, it has now become a connecting point in air traffic in the true sense of the word. Many airlines have started flying to Istanbul in recent years. Similarly, as an airline that connects America, Europe, Africa and Asia, Turkish Airlines has increased its transfer passenger numbers by 47 percent this year alone. Leaving the world’s giants behind one by one in terms of passengers carried, we are moving confidently towards the summit. Besides, we do our best to continuously improve our service quality and offer you a service approach based on love and a smile. It is the favor and appreciation shown by you that constantly motivate to do even better. Again this year, we held onto our Skytrax awards for Europe’s Best Airline, Southern Europe’s Best Airline and Best Premium Economy seat, which are determined in a survey of more than 18 million air travellers. For their important contribution to this achievement, I would like to thank once again our entire Turkish Airlines family, from our cabin personnel and cockpit crews to our ground staff and technical personnel. I would also like to take this opportunity to express my appreciation once again to you. Thank you for choosing Turkish Airlines and have a pleasant flight. Sincerely yours, Temel Kotil, Ph.D. CEO
