Turkish Airlines’ new check-in counter in Shekou ferry terminal
30.03.2010
Turkish Airlines has a new check-in counter set at Shekou ferry terminal in Shenzhen (Mainland China). As a result, it serves as a convenient choice for passengers to travel in and out of China via Hong Kong International Airport with Turkish Airlines. The geographical location of Shekou terminal provides the shortest ferry ride (approx 40 minutes) among other ferry entry ports in Pearl River Delta (PRD) to reach Hong Kong International Airport and the frequent daily schedule of the ferry is well connected to the departure and arrival time of Turkish Airlines’s flight between Hong Kong and Istanbul.
With Hong Kong government’s new transit visa policy, transit passengers connecting their ferry to and from mainland via Skypier of the Hong Kong International Airport are no longer required a transit visa* and Hong Kong Airport Passenger Departure Tax (APDT) are exempt for passengers with same day departure flight.
This gives an additional convenience for Turkish Airlines passengers whose travel destinations are mainland China and using Hong Kong International Airport as a transit hub.
Using Turkish Airlines’ new check-in counter in Shekou terminal, passengers are only required to take a short ferry ride to arrive in Hong Kong International Airport and can then go directly to the boarding gate.
For passengers who plan to go en route to Shekou terminal after they arrive at Hong Kong International Airport from Istanbul can go directly to the Shekou ferry company transfer desk in E2 to purchase their ferry tickets and receive a luggage receipt by presenting their passport, boarding pass and their luggage receipts from Tukish Airlines at the counter. Upon arrival at Shekou terminal, passengers can claim the luggage back by showing their luggage receipts issued by the ferry company.
Turkish Airlines believes this new service will provide a convenient and relaxing option for passengers to travel from Guangdong province of China to 150+ world destinations where Turkish Airlines fly via Istanbul and vice versa.
