New Art Again
New Art Again
AS FOR THE LAST 25 YEARS, TRANSMEDIALE IS AGAIN THE ADDRESS FOR SEEKERS OF THE INTER-CONNECTION BETWEEN CULTURE, TECHNOLOGY AND THE ART CURRENTS OF THE FUTURE.
Berlin these days is gearing up to welcome art lovers. Expecting upwards of 20,000 participants this year, Transmediale is again bringing visitors a taste of the new currents in art in a series of exhibitions, lectures, films and performances. Transmediale, which has been exploring the new and the old in aesthetics since its inception, is focusing again on “Technology in Everyday Life”. One of the festival’s biggest attractions is an imaginary museum that takes as its point of departure André Malraux’s “Museum Without Walls”.
Approaching art with an ever critical eye, the Transmediale Festival examines ‘the new’ and its place in culture from January 29 to February 3.
ALL YEAR LONG
An ongoing series of events has also been mounted throughout the year aimed at popularizing the works exhibited in the festival and supporting new artists and academics.
