We are all aware of the fact that the earth is threatened by greenhouse gases like carbon dioxide (CO2). Aviation is responsible for 2% of global CO2 emissions.
What Turkish Airlines is doing?
As part of our ongoing efforts to conserve fuel and improve environmental performance; Turkish Airlines is reducing the amount of CO2 produced by our aircrafts and other activities. We are renewing our fleet for the purpose of CO2 neutral growth. Besides renewing our fleet; we have conducted Fuel Conservation Project and by August 2008 we have achieved 78.371,439 USD of savings in jet fuel annually, reducing CO2 emissions by 201,700 tons. We are going to continue to look for innovative solutions to save on jet fuel.
