IN ITS 10TH YEAR, THE BRUSSELS ANTIQUE AND FINE ARTS FAIR IS GETTING READY TO WELCOME UPWARDS OF 46,000 VISITORS FROM MANY COUNTRIES.
One of Europe’s most spectacular fairs, the Brussels Antique and Fine Arts Fair is opening its doors this year to 122 participants from 14 countries. One of the main features of this year’s fair, January 19 to 27, is its venue, the 110-year-old train station by architect Van Humbeeck. Design of the fair’s interior space meanwhile is down to N. de Liedekerke and D. Culot. Collections of countless items from jewelry and antiques to old books and works of modern art are on hand for visitors and collectors at the fair, where international collectors have been coming together for the last ten years.

Among the noteworthy items at this year’s fair is a wooden model of Istanbul’s Mihrimah Sultan Mosque made by Augusto Roman Burelli.
45 YEARS 45 ARTISTS
Hacettepe University has taken its painting collection to Europe in an impressive exhibition at the Yunus Emre Turkish Culture Center in Brussels. The show, 45 Years 45 Artists: Hacettepe University in Europe - Contemporary Turkish Painting from the Hacettepe Collection, opened on December 11 and runs through January 11. Featured are works by such leading names in contemporary Turkish painting.
