Turkish Airlines has continued to grow despite the shrinking aviation sector globally and established a growth rate of 11%. THY carried 10.4 million passengers in 2003, and this number increased to 22.5 million in 2008 and 25.1 million in 2009. The projected target for the end 2010 is 31 million.
