30.10.2011
With the introduction of this timetable, Turkish Airlines will launch its first scheduled flights from Istanbul’s Ataturk Airport to London’s Gatwick Airport, its third airport in the London area...Already serving London’s Heathrow and Stansted Airports, Turkish Airlines will soon begin flights to Gatwick airport, THY’s third airport in the London market. As of December 20, 2011, there will be daily flights according to the following schedule:
| Istanbul-Gatwick | Departure / Arrival |
| Daily | 10:50-12:50 |
| Gatwick-Istanbul | Departure / Arrival |
| Daily | 13:55-19:45 |
As its long-haul fleet continues to grow, Turkish Airlines will also increase the number of flights operated to Washington, Los Angeles and Bangkok, following similar increases in the past summer season. Washington and Los Angeles will each gain an additional frequency, Washington from 5 to 6 and Los Angeles from 4 to 5. Weekly service to Bangkok will increase to 14, with twice daily flights from Istanbul.
Other frequency increases, already implemented during the summer timetable, will be maintained; with Johannesburg-Cape Town flights operating daily and the 4 weekly flights to Dar es Salaam continuing through the winter.
The 2011-2012 winter timetables will also see increased frequencies to the international destinations of Kazan and Dnepropetrovsk. Domestic services to Adana, Ankara, Gaziantep, Samsun and Van will also gain frequencies.
Turkish Airlines currently flies to 188 worldwide destinations; 147 international and 41 domestic. Turkish Airlines is Europe’s fastest growing carrier and its Istanbul hub is rapidly becoming a key global connecting point for international travelers.
