Turkish Airlines, the leading flag carrier in Turkey, has joined AACO as Partner Airline of this regional airline association. The partnership will provide the Arab airlines members of AACO and Turkish Airlines with opportunities of creating synergies through the joint projects that AACO launched during the past years as well as accessing its event and publications.
As it prepares for its Partner Airline membership, Turkish Airlines intends to develop bilateral links with a number of AACO’s established partners, which includes some of the leading names in the airline industry. Turkish Airlines already operates code-share flights with AACO partners, Egyptair, Etihad Airways, Royal Air Maroc and Syrian Arab Airlines.
Turkish Airlines’ General Manager Mr. Temel Kotil, Ph.D. said: “AACO is an important association for us to be incorporated into this collaboration. I believe that this cooperation will provide great opportunities and will be beneficial for us and all the member airlines.”
Mr.Abdul Wahab Teffaha, Secretary General of AACO said: “the Arab region and Turkey have been coupled by geography and by human relations for millennia. It is only natural that cooperation between the Arab airlines and Turkish Airlines continues to flourish. Turkish Airlines is already a great partner to the Arab airlines and now will become a great partner to AACO itself. AACO is proud that Turkish Airlines has chosen to be a Partner Airline.”
Turkish Airlines will mainly participate in Annual General Meeting which is one of the most important aviation events in the Arab world and meets annually highlighting high-level industry issues. Turkish Airlines will be proud to contribute to AACO by sharing mutual experiences and knowledge with member airlines. By being a part of this important regional association, Turkish Airlines would not only aim to enhance existing benefits and develop new ones for our customers but also focuses on creating new future opportunities between this region and the rest of the world.
The Arab Air Carriers Organization “AACO”, established in 1965 within the framework of the Arab League of States, is the Regional Association of the Arab Airlines who have their home base in country members of the Arab League, serves the Arab airlines, represent and defend their common interests regionally & globally, through creating joint frameworks that aims at developing economic and safe operations of its members. AACO has 25 Member airlines: Air Arabia, Afriqiyah Airways, Air Algerie, Air Cairo, EgyptAir, Emirates, Etihad Airways, Felix Airways, Gulf Air, Iraqi Airways, Jordan Aviation, Kuwait Airways, Libyan Airlines, Middle East Airlines, Oman Air, Palestinian Airways, Qatar Airways, Royal Air Maroc, Royal Jordanian, Saudi Arabian Airlines, Sudan Airways, Syrian Arab Airlines, Trans Mediterranean Airways, Tunisair, Yemen Airways. Overall, AACO Member Airlines offer 2,714 daily flights to 300 airports in 97 countries.
