General Information
Baggage includes clothes, private belongings and necessary equipment providing passenger’s comfort and convenience during journey. There are checked and unchecked baggage.
- Passengers shall check if they had any dangerous goods in their baggage.
- Please pack your baggage personally or supervise the packing process. Check all closed boxes and packages. Never accept belongings from other persons for delivery to someone you don't know.
- According to announcement from US Transportation Security Administration, air travelers are not permitted torch lighters in carry-on baggage or on their person.
- Please ask for information about the country you arrive or depart has some regulations about not accepting some certain goods in the baggage or hand baggage.
- You can move valuable goods such as jewellery, money, mobile phones, computers, documents and so on.
When checked baggage;
- Endangers the flight, passengers and other loads,
- Is not packed in a regular and safe way,
- Is prohibited by the government authorities of the departure, transfer, transit or arrival points,
- Is not suitable because of its size, volume.
- If one piece of baggage exceeds 32kg.
If the through check in is realized by an airline other than TK, the applications of the airline performing the check-in will be applicable.

Free baggage allowance differs depending on the booking class and the destination.
In case of code-share flights , the operating carriers apply on their baggage regulations.
Economy class free baggage allowence is 32 kg for the flights from Brazil to Turkey. Brazil should be origin of the flight.
Free baggage allowance of 1 piece shall be applied for all interline travels (include other carrier s sectors) when ultimate origin or destination of a ticket is a us point.
- 1. Baggage allowance in TK flights, From CAI to NYC is 2 pcs.
- 2. Baggage allowance in flights, From CAI to ATL is 1 pcs.
- 3. If 2 different tickets are bought like: Flights from CAI to NYC with TK and flights from NYC to ATL with another carrier; Baggage allowance from CAI to NYC is 2 pcs and from NYC to ATL is 1 pc.
- 4. Baggage allowance in TK flights, From NYC to CAI is 2 pcs.
- 5. Baggage allowance in flights, From ATL to CAI is 1 pcs.
- 6. If 2 different tickets are bought like: Flights from ATL to NYC with another carrier and flights from NYC to CAI with TK; Baggage allowance from ATL to NYC is 1 pc and from NYC to CAI is 2 pcs.

Carry-on Baggage
Unchecked baggage is carried in cabin, under the passenger’s personal custody. These baggage’s must be placed under the seat in front or in the overhead bin. Baggage under the passenger’s personnel custody is carried without any charge.
Cabin baggage control is made during check in or /and boarding. In addition to standard carry-on baggage allowance, every passenger may carry the following items free of charge in the cabin.
- 1 overcoat or blanket
- 1 notebook
- 1 lady’s small hand-bag
- 1 small camera
- 1 baby stroller
- Baby bottle for feeding the baby in cabin etc.
If you would like to have a baggage other than a handbag with you in the cabin, you should purchase an extra seat for it. For further detail information please contact with our reservation agent.

For these bags cabin baggage tags shall be used. Cabin baggage control is made during check in or /and boarding.
Rejection of Carriage of Cabin Luggage
An airline carrier has the right to reject carriage of any cabin luggage under the following conditions;
- In the event that there is a possibility of posing a threat to property or other persons,
- In the event that there is a possibility that the baggage may incur damage during air transport,
- If the baggage is unsuitably packed,
- If the carriage of the baggage constitutes a crime according to the laws of the countries at the starting or ending points of the voyage or the laws of any country whose airspace the aircraft passes through,
- If the baggage is not suitable for air transportation due to weight, size, or shape,
- If the baggage cannot fit in under the seats or in the overhead compartments and/or cannot be tied to a seat in a secure manner.

Responsibility
The carrier cannot be held responsible for any damages incurred by unregistered baggage unless the damages have been incurred as a result of the negligence of the carrier. In the event of determination of the presence of passengers' contributory negligence, the responsibility of the carrier is determined in accordance with the enforceable provisions of the legislation regarding contributory negligence.
Dangerous Goods
For safety reasons you may not carry these items in your checked or carry-on baggage

Briefcases and security type attache cases with installed alarm devices; or incorporative lithium batteries and/or pyrotechnic material;

Explosives, amunitions, fireworks and flares;

Gases (flammable, non-flammable, deeply refrigerated and poisonous) such as camping gas and aerosols;

Flammable liquids such as lighter fuels, paints and thinner;

Flammable solids, such as matches and articles which are easily ignited; substances liable to spontaneous combustion;substances which on contact with water emit flammable gases;

Oxidizing substances (such as bleaching powder and peroxides);

Poissonous (toxic) and infectious substances;

Radioactive materials;

Corrosives (such as mercury which may be contained in thermometers, acids, alkalis and wet-cell batteries);

Disabling devices such as mace, pepper spray, etc. containing an irritant or incapacitating substance

Other Baggage Carrying Regulations

- Liquid restrictions are applied in cabin baggage.
- Capacity of liquid container no greater than 100ml.
- Liquid container must be carried separately in transparent plastic bag (with ziplock) which is 20cm by 20cm in size and has maximum capacity 1(one) liter.
- Each passenger may carry only 1(one) such bag of liquids.
- Essential medicines (with prescription and original package) and baby food are permitted.
- Liquids: Water, syrups etc. creams, lotions, oils, perfumes, any cosmetics. (lip gloss, mascara etc.) toothpastes, shaving gels and foams, hair gels, spray deodorants, contact lens solutions, Shampoo, Jam, honey, yoghurt, etc.
All tax-free liquid items purchased at the airport duty-free shops must be in sealed,special plastic bag with the receipt.
Please do not open the sealed bag until the final destination. Otherwise, the content of bag maybe seized at security check points.
If you have any flight transfer in European Union countries or in United States,all duty-free liquid items(over 100 ml) which have already purchased in sealed bags are not allowed to carry as hand luggage.
