Through a Protocol of the Madrid Agreement, which went into effect on 1 December 1995 and was implemented in Turkey as of 1 January 1999, Turkish firms were enabled to gain international registration for their trademarks.
Turkish Airlines in-flight magazine ‘Skylife’ was registered on 26 October following application by the airline. The magazine, which first began to be distributed on airplanes in 1983 under title ‘THY Magazine’, and which took the name Skylife in December 1989, reaches the airline’s 131 destinations at home and abroad. More than just an airline magazine, Skylife is one of a handful of magazines that have appeared without interruption for over 23 years in Turkey.
