The 12th Festival of European Films on Wheels, which has been expanded this year to Georgia and Azerbaijan, is being organized by the Ankara Cinema Association, the Turkish Ministry of Culture and Tourism and the Municipality of Kars with contributions by Statoil and Aras Kargo. Films will be shown in Ankara 3-9 November; in Kars 11-16 November, in Tbilisi 17-21 November; and in Baku 22-26 November. Kars, which will host the festival’s Turkish and foreign guests, is also playing host to the Golden Goose International Film Competition, a first this year. With such categories as ‘Europe Europe’, ‘Exile, Refugees, Frontiers’, ‘Surrealist Films’, ‘Best European Comedies’, ‘Turkish Cinema 2006’, ‘European Shorts for Children’ and ‘Short is Good-A European Panorama’, this year’s Festival on Wheels also includes the films of Italian director Lucchino Visconti and Russian director Yuri Norstein as well as Lars Von Trier’s recently released ‘The Boss of It All’, shot in Copenhagen.
