Sea breeze in Istanbul

The ‘MeltemofIstanbul’ exhibition, consisting of works by young German-Turkish artists from the collection of the Elgiz Museum of Contemporary Art, opens on 18 October. The exhibition, which brings together a number of international artists whose works have not hitherto been shown in Istanbul, makes reference to the ‘meltem’ or off-shore breeze that blows through Istanbul in summer. Curated by Dr. Necmi Sönmez, the exhibition runs through 5 March.
