Season opens at Babylon
Babylon, which is playing host to the 16th Akbank Jazz Festival, is welcoming Dave Burrell (4 October), Acoustic Ladyland and Polar Bear (5 October), Alice Russell and TM Juke Live Quantic Dj Set (6 October), Ayşe Tütüncü and The Ramon Valle Quartet (7 October), the Alvin Curran, Red Frith, Cenk Ergün Trio and Cazyapjazz (8 October), William Cardoso (9 October), Supersilent (10 October), Cuong Vu (11 October), Birdy Nam Nam (12 October) and Orient Expressions-İmer Demirer-Leo Tardin (13 October). Following the festival, the season continues at Babylon with Ayhan Sicimoğlu and his new album on 18 October; Replikas, whose previous album won the critics’ acclaim, on 19 October; Sid Le Rock and his experimental stage performance on 20 October; the Trakya All Stars, one of the finest representatives of the musical tradition of Thrace, on 21 October; Ceza with his third solo album, ‘Yerli Plaka’, on 27 October; and DANdadaDAN with their melodic, sad but equally ‘hard’ sound on 31 October.
