The Turkish Airlines family welcomes Turkey’s ‘12 giant men’
The ‘Twelve Giant Men’, who made Turkish sports history by placing sixth in the 15th World Basketball Championship held recently in Japan, were greeted with wild enthusiasm by Turkish Airlines, official sponsor of the national basketball team. Airline employees, their families and fans welcomed the ‘12 giant men’ at Istanbul’s Atatürk Airport when they returned home in a plane festooned with the slogan ‘Together We’ll Go Even Higher’. Speaking at a welcoming ceremony mounted for the team, whose success has brought happiness to the Turkish people and made Turkey’s name heard once more around the world, Turkish Airlines President, Dr. Temel Kotil, presented gifts to captain İbrahim Kutluay for the entire team. Kotil, who presented all the players with first class round-trip tickets to Singapore, gave captain Kutluay a symbolic ticket as a memento, adding that the team’s success was very important for Turkey and that the airline was honored and proud to be its official sponsor.
