‘Romantica’, the musical, at TİM
Producer Türker İnanoğlu’s long-standing dream, a large-scale production of the musical ‘Romantica’, has opened at TİM (Türker İnanoğlu Maslak Show Center).
Based on the love of a gypsy girl from a family of musicians for the Harvard-educated son of a wealthy and cultured family with roots going back to the Ottomans, ‘Romantica’ is an entertaining musical comedy focusing on the cultural, intellectual and lifestyle differences between the two families. Starring in the production, under director Şakir Gürzumar of the Turkish State Theaters, are Melek Baykal, Zeki Alasya, Özgür Çevik, Çağla Şikel, Tarık Papuççuoğlu, Şeyla Halis, Kazım Akşar, Sema Aybars, Buket Dereoğlu, Engin Akyürek, Ümit Yesin and Veysel Diker. A 22-person dance group trained by Ömür Uyanık, Tunç Özçakır and Tuncay Okyar is accompanying the players to Tan Sağtürk’s choreography. Written by Resul Ertaş and Yaşar Arak, ‘Romantica’ features costumes by Hale Eren, set design by Ali Cem Köroğlu, and original music by Cengiz Onural and Bora Ebeoğlu.
