Rhythm brings cultures together
DRUM (Dialogue, Respect, Understanding through Music) is a group of well-known master percussionists who aim to foster tolerance and understanding between cultures through music and to bring disparate civilizations together through the power of rhythm.
Its first concert to be held in January, DRUM is preparing to bring together artists from different cultural backgrounds in its ‘Concerts of Civilizations Series'. Jointly with the Turkish Ministry of Culture and Tourism, the group is also going to celebrate the ‘UNESCO 2007 800th anniversary of Mevlânâ’ in December with its ‘Mevlânâ-Alchemist Symphonic Poem'. The not-for-profit group will appear in the concerts with a group of drummers who are taking percussion lessons.
