An official certificate of appreciation to Turkish Airlines
Twenty-three archaeological artifacts that were smuggled out of Turkey to the United Arab Emirates over the past several months were recently returned to Turkey on a Turkish Airlines plane.
Engaging in initiatives for the return of the 23 items, which include a 1.5-ton statue and fragments of grave stele and sarcophagi of Anatolian origin, the Ministry of Culture and Tourism presented the airline with an official certificate of appreciation for the sensitivity it demonstrated in transporting them back to Turkey. In the certificate, Turkish Airlines is thanked for its sensitivity and cooperation in identifying, protecting and returning safely to Turkey our cultural assets and wished continued success in its endeavors.
