Turkish Airlines and SwissAir become frequent flyer partners
To offer its passengers even more benefits, in December 2006 Turkish Airlines signed a preliminary protocol with Star Alliance, the world largest airline alliance.
The first bilateral agreement following the protocol was signed between Turkish Airlines and Lufthansa and went into effect on 25 March 2007. Now, through an agreement with SwissAir, members of the two airlines’ special flyer programs are able to acquire and use miles on both airlines interchangeably as of 20 September 2007. Turkish Airlines’ Miles&Smiles members and holders of the official Shop&Miles credit card will therefore enjoy a wider range of flight benefits. Other partners in the Miles&Smiles program are Austrian Airlines, Lufthansa and SwissAir, and more Star Alliance-member airlines will also be incorporated into the program over the course of this year.
