Snow festival at Sarıkamış
Starting to make a name for itself in winter tourism, Sarıkamış is in a position now to vie with many other ski resorts that offer winter sports.
Not only skiing, but a number of ambitious programs are being implemented at Sarıkamış today to train quality athletes for Turkey and the world. Enjoyable activities were organized in the township for the ‘Snow Festival’ held the second week in March, and visitors were welcomed from all over Turkey. At the festival, which took place this year for the fourth time, the flag was passed to Kars governor M. Ufuk Erden by 300 skiers and competitions were held. A genuine festival atmosphere reigned with participants coming not only from Sarıkamış but from many different parts of Turkey.
