The dark side of the world
İbrahim Göksungur’s Africa photographs will be at Istanbul’s French Culture Center 11 April to 10 May.
Says Göksungur of his works in the show: “At the end of his famous album, “The Dark Side of the Moon”, Pink Floyd asks if the moon really has a dark side. So, does the world have a dark side? A face or faces that are not seen, preferred not to be seen, left in the dark? This is what I wondered in the heart of Africa in 2006 when I encountered in Mali and Burkina Faso eminently enlightened people who, with their black faces, make up the dark side of the world.”
