Turkish Airlines’ reception in Sao Paulo
Turkish Airlines recently held a sumptuous reception attended by around 800 distinguished guests in Sao Paulo, its first destination in South America. Flights to the city got under way on 5 April of this year.
Taking part in the opening night were Brazilian tourism agencies and tour operators and a variety of firms and individuals from the tourism industry as well as representatives of airlines operating in Brazil and a large number of other distinguished guests from the sector. A Turkish dance group performed at the evening, which was hosted by Turkish Airlines’ Director of Business Development Haşmet Gökırmak and Brazil Director Atagün Kutluyüksel, and the Vai Vai Samba Club, one of Brazil’s most famous samba and capuera dance schools, also put on a spectacular show. Agencies Flytour, Gapnet and Greensbery, one of Brazil’s biggest agent groups with the highest sales in the country in the first month of the year, were all given plaques at the evening. In a prize draw two lucky people each won the right to tickets for two for travel to any country in the world where Turkish Airlines has a flight destination and to a complimentary stay of three nights at the Istanbul Hyatt Hotel. A promotional video presentation was followed with interest at the evening, where it was emphasized that Brazil’s recent growing interest in Turkey, the Middle East and Eastern Europe is going to multiply in the touristic, economic, political and cultural spheres and that Turkish Airlines’ Brazil flights are going to make an important contribution to the incoming/outgoing passenger market as well as to cargo transport. Turkish Airlines currently flies to Brazil twice a week on Wednesdays and Sundays. Starting from 26 June a third flight will be added on Saturdays.
