Going To Libya Easier With Turkısh Airlines
Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdoğan visited Libya on November 23-25 with a large official delegation of businessmen as well as members of the press. During the visit an agreement aimed upping the number of weekly flights in both directions between Istanbul and Tripoli from 7 to 14 was signed between the Ministers of Transport of Turkey and Libya with the participation of the airline’s then-Deputy Chairman of the Board and current Chairman, Hamdi Topçu. This will bring the Istanbul-Tripoli flights, which began in 2008 with 3 a week, up from the current 7 to a total of 14 in 2010. Agreement was also reached regarding the servicing of Libyan Airlines planes in the technical, training and other areas at Turkish Airlines facilities.
