Turkish Airlines In Alexandria
The port town of Alexandria has become Egypt’s second city after Cairo to which Turkish Airlines has regular flights.
Speaking at a ceremony to inaugurate the flights held at Alexandria’s Borg El-Arab Airport, Turkish Airlines’ CEO Temel Kotil stressed that the common history that commenced between the two countries in the 9th century constitutes a significant legacy today. In his speech, Kotil said: “Turkish Airlines achieved a 49% rise in its passenger numbers last year mostly through traffic with the African countries. The Alexandria route that we opened today is going to be a gateway to the development of Turkey-Egypt relations.” Turkish Airlines flights to and from Alexandria, which got under way on June 19, are four days a week on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays.
