Fiftieth Anniversary Of Turkish Airlines’ Flights To Germany Celebrated
Turkish Airlines celebrated the fiftieth year of its flights to Germany, at Frankfurt
Turkish Airlines CEO Temel Kotil, Michael Boddenberg (on behalf of the government of the state of Hesse), Green Party Joint President Cem Özdemir, Frankfurt Consul General İlhan Saygılı, and Düsseldorf Giants Basketball Team Coach Murat Didin participated in the celebration, which took place at a historical opera building.
Temel Kotil indicated that the flights to Frankfurt, which had begun on May 10th, 1960, had reached a volume of 220 return flights per week, and that the routes in Germany which had begun with Frankfurt have now reached a total of nine cities. In addition to the Frankfurt line, on which Turkish Airlines carried 350,000 passengers in the year 2009, the airline also has direct flights to the cities of Berlin, Cologne, Düsseldorf, Hamburg, Hanover, Munich, Nuremberg, and Stuttgart.
