THE 100TH ANNIVERSARY OF THE FOUNDING OF THE TURKISH AIR FORCE IS BEING CELEBRATED THIS YEAR.
And one of the most important among the festivities is the acrobatic “Turkey Air Show 2011”. With air acrobatics teams from many countries around the world taking part, the show will be held at the 2nd Main Jet Base Command at Izmir Çiğli June 4-5. Eagerly awaited in the spectacular sky fest, which also features solo air demonstrations, is the meeting in the blue of the Turkish Stars and F-16 SOLOTURK Show Team.
THE WORLD’S RESPECTED TEAMS
The world’s most respected air acrobatics teams are taking part in the Turkey Air Show, which features Croatia’s Krila Oluje, Patrouille de France, the Sherdils from Pakistan, Bialo Czerwone Iskry from Poland, the Red Arrows from England and the Thunderbolts from the U.S.A, as well as F-16 solo demonstration aircraft from Holland and Belgium, F-16’s and JF-17’s from Pakistan, a SAAB J 10 from Austria and an IAR-99 SOM from Rumania.
The static show meanwhile includes a Eurofighter from Germany, a C-130 from Algeria, a CN-295 from Poland, a C-27 SPARTAN from Rumania, an AN-26 from Serbia, an AN-26 and MIG-29 from Slovakia and an F-16A/C from Jordan.

A food court and an entertainment area are being provided on the base for the convenience and pleasure of spectators at the show, which is open to the public. Special Air Force souvenirs and books will also be available.
