WE ARE NOW IN THE 50TH YEAROF TURKISH IMMIGRATION TOGERMANY, AND THE OCCASION CALLS FOR CELEBRATION.A SERIES OF EVENTS - FROM CONCERTS AND EXHIBITIONS TO FILMS AND THEATER - HAS BEEN LINED UP IN ISTANBUL OCTOBER 20 TO DECEMBER 10.
Fifty years have passed since theTurkish-German Guest Worker Agreement was signed on November 2, 1961. A number of events have already taken place in Germany this year to honor the occasion.
Sinan University of the Fine Arts, the Goethe Institute and the Turkish have all rolled up their sleeves.

ISTANBUL EVENTS MARKING TURKISH IMMIGRATION TO GERMANY
EXHIBITION: Fiktion Okzident opens at the Tophane-i Amire Culture and Art Center on Sunday, October 30, and runs till November 28.
FILM: Istanbul Modern is hosting a series of films called A Look from Across - Migration and Cinema, starting on October 20.
WORKSHOP: German-Turkish hip hop singer Sultan Tunç is holding a workshop on the various forms of hip hop at Haymatlos on October 25.
INSTALLATION: Sirkeci Train Station is hosting a sound installation called Migration-Narratives, October 26 to November 10.
THEATER: A joint Turkish-German musical production, From Whence to Where, will be staged at Beyoğlu’s Kumbaracı 50 on December 10.
