Vnukovo Airport Is Getting A New Face
One of Moscow’s oldest transportatIon hubs, Vnukovo InternatIonal AIrport Is undergoIng renovatIon. And now Is the tIme for a closer look at thIs aIrport, whIch Is expected to have a complete new look by the end of 2012. Security measures have recently been increased at Vnukovo. Planning your trip, keep in mind that you will have to pass through more than one checkpoint. If your time is limited, you can take the advantage of Vnukovo’s ‘express passenger’ service. 1,000 ruble (approx. 30 USD) for domestic flights and 2,000 rubles (approx. 60 USD) for international flights for adults, the service provides a personal assistant to help you with pre-flight procedures. The business lounge is located on the 4th floor of Terminal A. The present lounge will soon move to its new location. Till that time, choose it more for brief visits. A nursery is available at Terminal A and D. For admission to this section, which has baby beds, highchairs and play areas, you need to make a stop at the first aid center If you need to access internet, you can connect it free of charge at Terminal A; nevertheless, you need to pay for it at Terminal B. There is also an internet cafe on the 2th floor of Terminal A. Car rental service is not available at Vnukovo Airport. If you need a rental car at arrival, you need to be well-prepared for it in advance. One of the best alternatives for transportation between the airport and the city center is the Aeroexpress railway company link. This train, which you can catch at Terminal A, reaches the city center approximately in 35 minutes and a ticket costs 320 Rubles (approx. 10 USD). Train tickets can also be purchased over internet.
