Music Goes Green

Supported By Hundreds Of Musicians, Among Them Famous Names Like Cahit Berkay, Fuat Saka, Asli, And Gökçe, Play For Nature Is Coming To Nature And Music Lovers With Two Concerts In July.

Premiering four years ago on the Popstar Alaturka program, produced and presented by Osmantan Erkır, the Play For Nature project is appearing this year in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus on July 2 and at Istanbul’s Marmara University on July 9.

Spearheaded by Fırat Çavuş with inspiration from Playing For Change, which broke records for being followed and shared on the social networks, Playing for Nature has released four separate videos so far. On the first video, 45 singers perform a Black Sea folk song, Divane Âşık Gibi (Like a Delirious Lover). On the subsequent videos, a medley of folk songs from Uzun İnce Bir Yoldayım, Gesi Bağları and Çemberimde Gül Oya to Çayeli’nden Öteye, and songs Selvi Boylum Al Yazmalım, Çiçek Abbas and Devlerin Aşkı are sung with backup by hundreds of musicians.  Play For Nature has captured interest and success as both a musical and a social responsibility project.
